Angelina Jolie uses its huge platform for a good cause.

The Maleficent actor and longtime humanitarian has pledged to donate $ 1 million more No Kid Hungry organization to help those in need during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

"As of this week, over a billion children are out of school worldwide due to coronavirus closures," Jolie said in a statement shared with E! News.

"Many children depend on the care and nutrition they receive during school hours, including nearly 22 million children in America who depend on food support," the statement continued. "No Kid Hungry is committed to reaching as many of the children as possible."

As the actor mentioned, the organization uses its resources to ensure that the children get food.

Billy Shore, Founder and Executive Chairman of Share our strength (which is the organization behind No Kid Hungry) said it best.

"People from all walks of life have risen to the unique challenge of feeding hungry children during a global pandemic," he said in a statement shared with us. "I've heard stories of heartbreaking needs and tremendous creativity, but above all perseverance – a sense that we leave no barrier between a child and the healthy meals they need."
